Autumn reds

Berry red

Leafy red

Little Red

This is what I have to show for a few days of convalescing and caring for the girls over the weekend...they're feeling much better and back at school today.

This little cutie is from the latest issue of Simply Crochet magazine, with a few minor adjustments to her facial features. But now Little Red needs a friend...

Happy crafting!

    1. Ha ha! Nah, the one in the mag had blue eye discs that we weren't crazy about, and she had one brown thread line for a mouth - our Little Red needed some lips! Cx

  6. Oh-so-cute ! Will you make a Grandma or a wolf to keep her company, I wonder? ;-)
Love the leaves and the berries too - whilst I'm definitely a Spring/Summer gal, I do so love this autumnal change of season around us as well. Good to hear you're all feeling better,
enjoy the rest of the week,

  13. Hiya Chrissie - your Little Red is gorgeous - cute as! What a lovely job you've made of her and I do like her little red angel lips.
Your lovely red berries and 'leafy red' are beautifully autumnal, and dare I add ... ... ... Christmassy! Delightful, and thank you for giving us a peep at what's happening around you out there in the changing seasons.
So glad to hear you are all feeling much better and now perhaps you should be kind to yourself and not overdo things until you're feeling 100% again - that's Mamma talk!
    Warm hugs,
    Joy xo

  14. Hi Chrissie, red is my favourite colour of all time - it is so lovely so your photographs hit the spot for me. I love Little Red, wish I could make one of these myself but struggle with pattern reading with crochet (don't know why because I can read knitting patterns so well) - a mental block of some kind! Anyway love your little miss, she is a beauty but does need another little pal. A fabulous post Chrissie, thanks so much
    Lots of love

  15. Awh she is such a cutie!! I just got the magazine and thought she was cute, but yours is so much lovelier!! What a lovely project to work on when you are feeling under the weather. Pleased to hear the girls are back at school now and hope your're feeling a bit perkier too. I reckon you better keep red at home as she is far too cool for school ;-) xoxo

  18. Hi Chrissie, just discovered your blog (via Simply Crochet mag's post about this very Little Miss!). I've had my eye on making this myself but haven't yet found the right yarn. Can I asked what you used please?
Also just bought Nicki Trench's Cute & Easy Crochet with Flowers on your recommendation. Can't wait to get stuck in!
    Many thanks!

  19. Hi Sweetpea and welcome! Thank you for your comment - my stash is made up mainly of Stylecraft DK, which I used for Little Red. I'm afraid I don't have the colour names (my New Year's resolution next year is to document yarn names and numbers in a notebook for this reason!) but they're pretty easy to spot on yarn web sites - a dark red, baby blue and flesh/pale peach. And I used a size 3.5mm hook as well. Do keep me posted on what you like in the book - I hope you'll join the CAL! Chrissie x
