I can hardly believe it: I finished my first skirt!
I love it! I love the colours, the fabric...and I loved
making it. (And I am pleased to report that it is the same floral pattern on
the front and the back, thank-you Grandma!)
And while digging out summer tops to match with it, I
realised my Blossoming Bag matches it
splendidly!
I would have been lost without the fab-a-roony tutorials
from Miss Lazy Daisy Jones – you are an amazing seamstress, m’dear, see you on
GBSB next year? I know I speak for a number of us...
I’ve been bitten by the bug; I’m already snooping around
Pinterest and various web sites for my next pattern. Perhaps another skirt,
maybe a dress...or shall I just wait to see what Grandma sends to me?
And to prove it fits, here I am wearing my skirt, photo
snapped by Bunny:
All five feet of me, wearing a simple pink summer tee and
ballet flats. That’s my new linen summer hat, I’m a little bit in love with
it...
Thank you to everyone who left a comment on my last post,
you are all so supportive and encouraging, it really boosted my confidence! Now
I must change from this skirt to my gardening clothes, the sun is shining and
there is work to be done...
Have a lovely weekend!
Chrissie x

Dear Chrissie
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous - huge congratulations! I have stalled somewhat with mine but have set myself a time limit - I need it made for the autumn!! I am determined to make it though and have also just purchase a pattern for some long shorts and cropped trousers (elasticated/draw string waist to make it a little bit easier!).
Enjoy wearing your skirt during the summer.
Best wishes
