Our new refrigerator arrived this afternoon.
There was a Big Discussion, with words like “expensive” and “impractical”,
and “family with growing, hungry children” being bandied about. These countered
my proclamations of “pretty!” “happy!” and “PINK!!!!”
I take solace in a tall water dispenser. With Special
Functions, like Ice Type and Child Lock.
And a rather cute bottle shelf for my bubbly...
A large part of me wants to yarn bomb this sucker, even
though I know it really is a lovely, large refrigerator.
I’ve claimed the doll’s house fridge as my own. Until I’m
older and don’t have to be so practical and sensible.

WOW!! That is an amazing refrigerator! I understand that practicality has to win out (for now)...but a few crocheted flowers (in pink of course) never hurt anything!
ReplyDeleteAh dammit, no pink Smeg, but yay to lovely practical stainless steel ones, especially with the all important bubbly shelf.
ReplyDeleteA few crocheted pink hearts and flowers attached to magnets should do the trick ;-)

Do you mean older like when you are a grown up or older as in bit more cranky?? ha!
ReplyDeletebet you mean grown -up type of older...one day I want to be like that too...never grow up Chrissie sweetie...

I tried really hard to get a Smeg - but it just wouldn't fit in my tiny kitchen. Not if we wanted a cooker too!
ReplyDeleteI hope you make good use of the bubbly shelf! :) x
Some of those lovely cross stitch magnets and crochet flowers on magnets should do the trick, in the meantime there is always pink bubbly!!!!
ReplyDeleteDamn practicality and money saving! Still a lovely fridge, though - even if it's not a pink smeg!

Ooh your fridge is very grand, dear Chrissie.....As is that sweet pink dolly one...I am a lucky bunny and have a red smeg ( I wanted pink but we have Liverpool supporters in the house......Always stay young as you are lovely Chrissie, we simply adore you this way, my friend!
ReplyDeleteHugs and kisses Maria x
Ok it's not pink ( pink is very overrated) but it is brilliant! :)

I feel your pain! xo
ReplyDeleteAw, I'm disappointed for you Chrissie - why on earth not a pink Smeg, for goodness sake!!! Never mind, glad to see you still have your sense of humour and let's face it, this is a lovely fridge and, as suggested already, crocheted pink flowers will look so good 'blossomed' all over it; it'll be very interesting to read of the results of that action - do keep us up to date! And dear Chrissie, please don't grow up, not even for a pink Smeg, your beautiful personality always shines through and I love you just the way you are! Hugs, Joy x
ReplyDeleteIt's absolutely lovely, and as you say, you can have a pink one when you're a grown up. I have a small timer in the kitchen that's pink. It's about the only bit of pink I have in this boy household. Maybe I'll get a pink fridge when I grow up as well. It would be nice...
ReplyDeleteAww sorry it's not a pink one but wow that a serious fridge !!! love the little cute little pink one too.
ReplyDeleteClare xx
Hi Chrissie it is a magnificent beast and so useful and practical. But I am with you - bring on the pink Smeg anytime for me. You have good taste Chrissie.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs, Dorothyxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Wow, it's really nice! I understand your disappointment, but I think you have a great attitude. It struck me looking at the new fridge that your fridge is in exactly the same place in your kitchen that mine is, right next to the door to go outside, with a counter to the left. It looks just like mine!
ReplyDeleteI love that fridge. I want one but we would have to move house because my kitchen is so small there would be no room for anything else,
ReplyDeleteCarolx
So funny! It's a brilliant fridge :) x
ReplyDeleteHahaha, we had exactly the same discussion about fridges last year!
ReplyDeleteWe also choose the practical solution.... I did put some bunting on the side though,to make it a little bit more fun.... ;-)
I'm trying to persuade my other half that we need a smeg fridge but in Aqua. I really don't think I want a big one how ever useful it might be.
ReplyDeleteDear Chrissie
ReplyDeleteI believe growing up to be highly overated! You'll soon have your new fridge looking like it belongs with you!
Best wishes
Ellie
That's a real beauty Chrissie...I love the little pink one too! xo
ReplyDeleteGoodness that is a monster of a fridge. Keep chilled about it!!! Jo x
ReplyDeleteThat fridge is huge - not much chance on getting one of these into an average UK property. Looks really smart.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beast that's for sure! It'll never be a pink Smeg, but it's a very smart fridge and it does have the bubbly shelf :o). There's nothing for it but to drape it in pink crochet flowers and bunting. Enjoy the rest of the week.

Your new fridge looks very stylish and practical too, I think it is the best choice for now and a growing family. There may be a pink Smeg in your future, you never know!
ReplyDeleteHelen xx
I have a cream Smeg, living with four men (one husband and 3 sons in case you wondered!) meant I was never going to get a pink one! Julie x
ReplyDeleteWell it may not be a pink smeg but it still looks lovely and stylish. Love the teeny weeny pink fridge too!
ReplyDeleteMarianne x
It is an amazing fridge - and I love the thought of chilled fizz but alas it isn't pink - maybe next time xxxx
ReplyDeleteNo it is not honey, but it will be super practical and honestly will bring you lots of lovely water and happy moments when you think of all that space!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteHaha I love the mini-pink! Anna x
ReplyDeleteI have to say I like the pink one the best!
ReplyDeletehugs and congrats to you on your practical, and very lovely new fridge.
